Next Archbishop of York announced

Bishop Stephen Cottrell,

currently Bishop of Chelmsford

will succeed Dr John Sentamu as the 98th

Archbishop of York in June 2020

Bishop Cottrell visited York earlier this week to pray in the Minster
and to meet members of local congregations and the public

We give thanks for all that Archbishop Sentamu has contributed to the church in his time as our Archbishop
and we pray for Bishop Cottrell as he prepares to take up his new and important role
