Go back to normal view
At our Benefice service in St Peter's Upper Helmsley on Sunday 10 December (Advent 2), Sister Margaret Ann spoke to us about embracing change and about reaching out to share our faith and to spread the good news to others.
She read this short poem - and it gives us something to think about.
Why put off until tomorrow what you could do today?
Plant a tree, Write a song
In youth, because I could not be a singer,
I did not even try to write a song;
I set no little trees along the roadside,
Because I knew their growth would take too long.
But now from wisdom that the years have brought me,
I know that it may be a blesséd thing
To plant a tree for someone else to water,
Or make a song for someone else to sing.
