“What do you think about . . . .?”

Hello everyone and welcome to our Wednesday half hour gathering.

This morning: “What do you think about . . . . Faith?”

Last week our discussion about what Faith means to us proved challenging. It was clear that there was more to say about this subject - so draw up a chair, settle with a 'cuppa' and a biscuit, and let's go further along this road.

The word 'faith' comes from the Latin fides. We sing Adeste Fideles at Christmas - 'O Come all ye faithful'. We may associate words like Trust and Confidence when we talk about faith. When it's in a religious context we often use the word Belief - and just to be clear, this is about the Christian faith in God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

So some questions to ponder and perhaps to chat through:

  • What does the word Faith mean to you?
  • On a scale of 0 (no Faith) to 10 (absolute Faith) where would you put your 'Faith'?
  • Why is it that number?
  • What would make that change - up or down?

So - come and share your thoughts and counsel over a cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit.

Everyone is welcome!

The link to our 'Zoom' meetings and services will be emailed a day or two in advance. If you don't usually get this and would like to join us then please contact Revd Chris Wingfield by email. We look forward to seeing you online on Wednesday and/or Sunday mornings for as long as the current restrictions last.

You might like to read the following bible passages:

Hebrews 11:1 - 12:3 (Faith in action)
1Peter1:18-21 (Belief in God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ)
