The Corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic is affecting many aspects of our lives and the situation is still evolving.

Based on advice from the Department of Health and the Church of England, to reduce as far as possible the risks of onward transmission of the virus -

ALL church services have been cancelled until further notice.

The following events have also been cancelled:

  • Play & Pray - all sessions until further notice
  • Benefice choir practices

Do check our website regularly as the guidance may change.

Update Monday 23 March: Church buildings to be closed.

Until now we have kept our churches open during the day for quiet individual prayer. However today it has been announced that church buildings are to be closed for 3 weeks. In addition to the prayers below we are adding web pages with resources to help you to pray and worship at home.

Though physically separated yet we are still all one - united in the family of God and we invite you to join us at 10am each Sunday for a short online service, led by Revd. Chris Wingfield, our Rector. Go to 'Covid-19: Our churches online' for more information.

There have already been many acts of kindness and we will post some of these on this section of the website. So do please contact Chris or me (Michael Harran: if you would like to share more of these.

If you know of anyone in your neighbourhood who might need practical or pastoral help then do contact a member of the Ministry Team or one of the Churchwardens.

From the Home page, check out the 'Covid-19 Our churches online' for more resources and for upliftting stories from around the Benefice.

In the Calendar you will find the scripture references for the days when we would have held services and you might like to read these as you set aside some time for prayer and reflection. Below are some prayers that you may wish to use:

For the Christian community

We are not people of fear:
we are people of courage.
We are not people who protect our own safety:
we are people who protect our neighbours’ safety.
We are not people of greed:
we are people of generosity.
We are your people God,
giving and loving,
wherever we are,
whatever it costs
For as long as it takes
wherever you call us.

Click on the link below for more prayers.
They are set out so that you can read them as they are
or perhaps cut into separate prayers to use each day:

Prayers for you to use
